Printmaking can be both simple and rewarding for both the experienced artist and the beginner. It is spontaneous and immediate, with gratifying and, sometimes, surprising results.

Join other artists and makers for a few lively hours learning to make your own relief prints using LEGO tiles. That’s right! LEGO tiles! During the worst of the pandemic many printmakers and other artists who had relied on shared facilities to create their work experimented with unusual techniques and methods to continue creating their art. It wasn’t long before this DYI approach lead to the design and sale of new equipment, like a DYI proofing press designed by Provisional Press (the brainchild of Steve and Liz Garst). In this Workshop you will learn inventive ways of making designs using LEGO tiles, and then print them using the proofing press and hand printing methods.

Each participant will be able to create and print a small edition. Supplies will be provided.
