From The Vault: Graham/Warpinski

June 3 - 24

Sidedoor Gallery at newARTSpace

From The Vault is the first installment of an annual peek into the personal archive of long-time artists David Graham and Terri Warpinski. For the month of June, Graham will reveal his original Type C color prints from his book Alone Together. The New York Times featured these photographs and their poignant story in its Feb. 13, 2003 daily edition and the book quickly sold out. Warpinski will display 15 broadsides from the limited-edition portfolio Liminal Matter: Traces. This 2018 collaboration pairs arresting images of the U.S.–Mexico border by photographer Terri Warpinski with responses to the images by poet Laura Winter. Traces focuses the viewer’s attention on the people caught in between two nations and those who profit from their plight. Visual and poetic pairings reveal artifacts and other evidence of passage and exclusion, providing insight into the struggles and hope of those in flight.
